Dr. Alpana Goel

Director & Head, Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

Qualification: M.Sc. Ph.D. (Nuclear Physics) from IIT, Roorkee.

Experience: Formerly Head of department of Physics, Amity Institute of Applied Sciences since 2003. More than 20 years teaching experience of teaching UG and PG students. Worked as Post doc in Delhi University.

Research Interests:

  • Nuclear Structure Physics.
  • Presently, involved in developing theoretical information about Super deformed Nuclei.
  • Published more than 35 papers in very reputed National and International Journals.
  • Some of good papers are in Physical Review C, Physics Letters, Nuclear Physics A, Pramana etc.

Published four books for B.Tech students. Guiding no. of students for Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics.

Prof. A.K.Jain

Advisor & Honorary Professor

  • Formerly Emeritus Professor of Physics at I.I.T. Roorkee, Ph. D Banaras Hindu University
  • Joined University of Roorkee in 1979, (now the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee)
  • Full Professor: IIT Roorkee in 2001
  • Head of the Department from Jan. 2011 to April 2014

Prof. Jain has been at the forefront of Nuclear Structure Physics in India for the last 40 years, having contributed to a variety of areas and topics. He has published more than 100 papers in top rated journals including two extensive studies in the prestigious journal, Reviews of Modern Physics, which has an impact factor in the range of 30-40.

During his long career, he has also visited and worked at the Florida State University, McMaster University, Kuwait University and Yangon University as a Research Associate/Visiting Professor.

He is a member/Chair of several national and international committees. He was awarded “Star Performer” in teaching and research by IIT Roorkee in 2004. He was awarded Acharya Sumatisagar Smriti Award in 2009 for his work on English translation of Jain canons. He was honored with Outstanding Service Award by Indian Nuclear Society (Dept. of Atomic Energy) in 2013.

Ms. Archana Yadav

Asst. Professor

Qualification: M.Tech Nuclear Science & Technology, University Of Delhi, Master Nuclear Energy- Operations, Ecole Centrale Paris.

Experience: Formerly Senior Engineer Nuclear Science, P M Dimensions Pvt. Ltd. Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Operations, Reactor Safety and Reliability

Dr. Arpita Datta

Asst. Professor

Qualification: Ph. D. (Chemistry), HBNI, IGCAR, Tamil Nadu

Experience: Formerly CSIR Research Associate at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata

Research Interests

  • Radioanalytical Chemistry, Green Chemistry

Published 14 journal papers in international journal and 17 conference papers in national and international conferences.

Dr. Sudatta Ray

Asst. Professor

Qualifications: Ph. D (PHYSICS) Calcutta University, UGC-DAE-CSR Kolkata Center, Kolkata

Experience: Formerly Research Associate at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata.

Research Interests:

  • Experimental Nuclear Science application based

Dr. Unnati Gupta

Asst. Professor

Qualifications: Ph. D. (Physics), AMU, Aligarh

Experience: Formerly DST-Women Scientist-A at University of Delhi, CSIR Research Associate at Aligarh Muslim University.

Research Interests:

  • Accelerator based nuclear reactions.
  • Fusion(and/or Incomplete fusion)-fission reactions  -Low energy Incomplete fusion reaction (i.e., 3-7 MeV/A)
  • Fusion extreme sub barrier fusion, Multi nucleon transfer reactions at near barrier energies,
  • Neutron capture reactions at energies, astrophysical interest.

Published 37 journal papers in international journals like Nuclear Physics A, Physics Latter B, Physical Review C, International Journal of Modern Physics E and 100 conference papers in national and international conferences. 

Dr. Abhishek Yadav

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from AMU, Aligarh
  • NET-JRF (UGC-CSIR) 2007.

Experience:

  • INSPIRE Faculty (DST) at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (2018-2023).
  • Young Scientist (SERB) at Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi (2014-2017).
  • Awards/recognitions:
  • Recipient of prestigious Prof. CVK Baba Best Thesis Award-2012 by Indian Physics Association
  • Invited talk at the DAE Symposium on Nuclear Physics (2023).
  • Special seminar talk at IUAC, New Delhi (2013)
  • Visited several countries (Poland, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, France) to present his research work.
  • Life member of Indian Physics Association

  • Nuclear reactions (Barrier distribution: effect of channel coupling on reaction mechanism, break-up mechanism of the projectile, fusion-fission).
