Dr V K Singh

Dr. V.K. Singh is a distinguished Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD, USA. He is a recognized expert in the field of Radiation Protection, with a focus on the health effects of ionizing radiation and the development of medical countermeasures for radiological and nuclear threats. Dr. Singh has contributed significantly to research in the areas of Radiation Biology, Biomedical Sciences and the development of protective strategies for military and civilian populations. His extensive career is marked by numerous Research Projects, Publications and collaborations with National and International Agencies, particularly in the realm of Defense and Emergency preparedness.

Work Experience: Over 22 years of Experience on development of PSA for nuclear plants and its applications. As Head, RRSD responsible for Safety Communication with Regulatory body, Safety Evaluation and Human resource development, Engineering Services, Quality Assurance, In-service Inspection and Conditioning Monitoring, Reactor Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Chemistry control activities. There are 10 laboratories in RRSD that caters to apart from safety services research and development activities in support of safety improvements. As the Chairman of Reactor Group- Safety Review Committee responsible for review of incidents, plant modifications, safety documents and experimental facilities. Also a Member of Research Reactor Safety Committee of BARC Safety Council.

Qualification: M.Sc & Ph.D in Physics from University of Calicut, India & from University of Madras.

Experience: 25 years of experience in Nuclear Science and Engineering research, education and training with specialization in nuclear safety, security and safeguards.

Dr. D.K Srivastava

Dr. D. K. Srivastava is DAE Raja Ramanna Fellow and former Director & Distinguished Scientist at VECC Kolkata. Dr. Srivastava has many DAE awards and Group Achievement awards to his credit. Dr. Srivastava was awarded as the outstanding referee by American Physical Society (APS) in 2009. He was honored with Life-time Achievement Award by Chitkara University in 2012. He was elected as President, Indian Physical Society in the 2014. He was also awarded Homi Bhabha Lecturer Award by Indian Physics Association and Institute of Physics UK in 2016.

Dr. R.K. Singh is DAE Raja Ramanna Fellow & Honorary Visiting Professor of Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Dr. Singh held many prestigious positions (Associate Director Reactor Design & Development Group / Head, Reactor Safety Division) at BARC, Mumbai and retired as Distinguished Scientist. He is recipient of Homi Bhabha Science and Technology Award -2011, BARCOM Group Achievement Award-2011 and Hydrogen Recombiner Development Group Achievement Award-2014 for his outstanding contributions. He has published papers in International Journals (90), International Conferences (230) and National Conferences (99). He has also published 6 books, 34 BARC Reports, 9 Restricted Reports & 9 FZK (KIT) Reports.
